ABOUT INDY LAKES:

I have notified that my name was mentioned on another website. I won't mention which one because it is a very good website, and one I really like. Since my name got mentioned there like this, I do feel the need to defend myself from someone that's to ignorant to know how to run a pay lake and campground. Laugh at me as they refused to pay out what they said I had already won !

You got to be kidding me ! Sure, there's no love lose between myself and Indy Lakes. Fact is I was told I had won. The clerk even counted up the money and told me how much I had won. Then they turned around and refused to pay out.

I admit the fish wasn't carried into the bait shop in a net because the net was so big, and if they would of told me I had not won because of that I would of walked away with lesson learned.

Why was I told I had won if I didn't win ? Not my fault the clerk made a mistake. It's just not right to tell someone they have won, and then change their minds ! I would of even forgotten about it then, but as I was walking out the door they the owner just started laughing about it ! Not very nice, and has not been forgotten !

I'll also mention that the video tape that was made of this mysteriously disappeared. I'll bet the waiver they said I signed about the rules and regulations has disappeared to !

Indy Lake rules :rolleyes: I sometimes think they make up their own rules as things happen. They have since changed the rules a few times since I caught that fish I think, and it was only a small 17 pound fish. Very small compared to the fish I've seen come out of Hubbards.

Non-Profit :p lol

Ask Indy Lakes why they took the former owner of "Catch the Big One" to court.

Since this has happened I go to Hubbards now, and find it to be much cleaner, and stocked with lots of big fish. I've seen some mighty big ones caught at Hubbards, and caught a few myself. Let me tell you they were lots bigger than a little 17 pound fish.
Indy Lakes does have a good set of rules, but they play by the rules and there are no exceptions. See Indy Lakes takes fishing seriously when they have to be the umpire calling on this sport of fishing and the monies that the anglers pay to angle for the weight. Indy Lakes is a non-for-profit paylake.

Sammy does not like Indy Lakes as he got caught breaking the rules and one of his fish was disqualified. He places comments and reviews everywhere on the world wide web, because he did not educate himself on fishing contest and rules. He did catch a nice cat though.
I'm surprised this issue has even come back up. As posted on you tube Indy Lakes stated that they appriciated all of my advertising, and even thanked me for it !

Louis never said there was a video that we kept from ~8 years ago, why would we? Youadmit you broke the rules but because the cashier "told you you won" which is also in dispute, you think you should be paid other people's money of which we are trustee. Rules say "not official until paid". Guess what, it's official, you were not paid as you did not win. And of course, a legitimate angler won it just a few months later - and was paid. Get over yourself, but thanks for the advertising.      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpQIjp8jlPY

Indy Lakes is not recommended. I do not recommend Indy Lakes on the Indianapolis Southside. I do not recommend Indy Lakes RV campgrounds.

I have fished here in the past, done been there and did that. One time I fished at Indy Lakes and I caught a winning fish in the cat fishing pools.  I'm thinking it was $549.00 pot. The clerk behind the counter said I had won. Then he counted up the money and even told me how much I had won. Then they refused to pay out !

They said I broke one of the rules because I didn't carry the fish in with a net. If that's the case, why was I told I had won ?

If that's the case, why was I told I had won ? Then they said the clerk had made a mistake. Well, it wasn't my mistake, and if the clerk made the mistake it should be up to Indy Lakes to correct the problem and pay out.

Needless to say I was told I had won, and I feel like Indy Lakes should pay out !

I did protest the decision of Indy Lakes, which they did decline to pay out. The owner James Page just laughed at me as I walked out the door. Offered me no explanation at all.

I feel like I was ripped off after I was told I had won !

If they had told me I had lost because of the net, I would of walked away with lesson learned. But they did tell me I had won ! I I have often thought since that there might just be something fishy going on with these fishing pools.

Do you think the owner of this pay lake might have two sets of books? One that he shows to the IRS, and another with the real set of figures? The idea of this has been brought to my attention, how-ever I really don't know.

I will not go back to this pay lake, least I won't let the owner know when, or if I do.

I did notice lots of other things happening at Indy Lakes. I did notice people urinating behind car doors, and out in the grass. I did see what I thought were people smoking illegal drugs, smelled it too ! I think the Indiana State Police need to get in there and raid the place !

The owner of these lakes has stated that there are no wild drinking parties on his property, but as some of the local news stations reported a couple years back or so, a man drowned in one of his lakes, and alcohol was thought to be a contributing factor.

I have heard many other stories from people who have also felt like they were ripped off in the fishing pools. That is just hear-say, and I don't know if any of them are true or not. I have no reason not to believe them.

I am limited as to say what I can, or cannot say on the internet including photo's due to legal stuff, otherwise I'd say lots more.

I do think that Indy Lakes should pay out including interest of 18% yearly to satisfy the debt they owe me.

I did offer to let them pay out the proceeds of my catch to Rileys Childrens Hospital as a donation because of the dispute, but they didn't want any part of that. I felt like that would settle the dispute for a good cause. They would even get a big tax deduction doing that, but they still refuse.

That's just the way it is, and I will continue talking and voicing my thoughts about Indy Lakes for years to come, or until they do pay out.

Indy Lakes is not recommended. I do not recommend Indy Lakes on the Indianapolis Southside. I do not think Indy Lakes is a good place to camp or fish, even if they have an Indianapolis RV Park.
